Tom Turns 50!

January 31, 2012
by Eric DeBusschere

On Saturday, I had the wonderful opportunity to be the DJ for Tom’s 50th birthday. They requested an interesting mix of 80′s tunes, folk music, and a few of the more recent songs. The guests arrived at about 7 o’clock and the buffet line was ready at about 7:30. None of the guests wanted to go first so I had to ask Tom if it was OK for me to announce that folks should go ahead and get some food. You can’t start the dancing until the food gets eaten! After the dinner, finding music that would please everyone wasn’t too hard because Tom’s friends and family were ready to dance for Thriller!

And as always, the classic song Love Shack worked well to keep the energy levels high.

Towards the end of the party, I had a request for Shout so I was more than happy to oblige!

It was a pleasure working for Tom and Bernadette for this party. Again, happy birthday to Tom and thanks for trusting me with your entertainment needs.

Bridal Bliss Bridal Show

by Eric DeBusschere

I’m still trying to catch up from the amazing bridal show sponsored by Bridal Bliss on Sunday. We had over 400 brides come to the Hilton downtown and I know I met at least 100 of them personally that needed a wedding DJ. Dates are filling up for 2012 so make sure you call to setup an appointment and reserve Fresh Beats for your wedding day!

I also had a great chance to meet some new wedding vendors in town. One of them was Mark Ellis of Video Big Event Productions a new wedding videography company in Lexington. Mark also owns Ellistrations Athletic Scholarship Videography which specializes in recording sports footage to be used by high school athletes to earn scholarship money for college so he’s been in the videography business for a long time. If you’re looking for a videographer for your wedding, be sure to include him in your considerations.

Crowne Plaza Celebrates the Holidays

Last night, the Crowne Plaza hotel of Lexington held a holiday party for their employees. The managers took up the roles of serving while the staff got free Moe’s food. I had the opportunity to provide music for the party so I began the evening with some light Christmas music during dinner. The guests had requested a lot of music by Michael Jackson with the online request system so I really wore out the MJ music. After a couple of hours of dancing, the staff got to spend the play money they gambled with at the mock casino by betting on some cool prizes.

The staff of Crowne Plaza is always great to see and work for. They asked that I don’t post pictures of the party to protect their privacy, so you’ll just have to imagine the great times!

Lauren and Justin’s Wedding

October 23, 2011
by Eric DeBusschere

Lauren and Justin tied the knot Saturday and had their reception at the Griffin Gate Mansion. I had just been there two weeks prior but I still showed up early to make sure everything was in order. Lauren and Justin are fans of classic rock, country, and music from the 80′s so I made sure to play as much as I could from those genres. The dancing was outside on the patio and the weather was great! After dinner and the cutting of the cake, the guests came out to the patio to witness the first dance.

After that, the dance floor opened up and I got a request for the electric slide.

The sun began to set on the patio and the party was nearing the end. It looked like a nice romantic song was in order.

Congratulations to Lauren and Justin on their wedding. Thanks to the staff of Griffin Gate Mansion and Weasie Gaines for her photographical skills.
